He is Italian Andrea Lattuad (right). A MASTER TRAINER in residence at the Italian Coffee Training Centre, one of the best schools in the world, the official JUDGE for the World Championship of Barista in Switzerland in 2006, winner of numerous awards including The ITALIAN BARISTA & BARTENDER CHAMPIONship 2003, he is also an ARCHITECT, designer specialising in coffee boutiques and an ex-PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER.

Must say he is multi-talented and of course there’s the hard work behind the success story that most people won’t see. Having a Bachelor of Architecture and instead of settling comfortably for an architect position, he went on to work as a waiter, then bartender, barista, bar manager and finally designing and opening his own 9bar with bartender Fabio Milano - a marriage of American bartending to traditional Italian barista knowledge.

Intertwining passion and work usually drains the passion away. How then can you tell if diving into a passion will work out as a profession, that the time spent is totally worth it?

I guess I need the courage and desperately, more talent please!

“And I just want to say that my full-time job, being—this is true—being a musician is almost a side job to my full-time job of not screwing up… I’m on a track where as soon as you get in a room, the room is full of things to take you out of the room. “Now that you’ve made it, here are a plethora of things you can do to not make it. Here are a… Here’s the Out door…” and… It’s a fill-in-the-blank you know. It’s like mad libs.

Umm, this is a song about… making sure you still love yourself… making sure you still have your head on, making sure you still say no the way your mom would say no. And I will need it every damn day of my life because it’s easier to mess up than it is to stay here.” - John Mayer, 2005

Where people weigh realities more than ideals, can you still find the courage to say “one day, I will fly”?
